This study discusses a series of laboratory experiments in which Nano-sized metal oxide particles were combined with high-viscosity Iraqi crude oil. Over the past decade, increasing attention has been given to the use of nanoparticles in the petroleum industry, with numerous research initiatives exploring their potential to enhance oil recovery and improve flow properties. In this work, the crude oil samples were treated with various metal oxide nanoparticles and subjected to thermal conditions. The results showed a considerable reduction in the viscosity of the heavy crude oil after heating in the presence of these nanoparticles. The findings highlight the effectiveness of Nano metal oxide additives in reducing viscosity, potentially offering a cost-effective and efficient solution for improving crude oil transport and processing.
